This speed skating suit was worn by Marrit Fledderus during the World Speed Skating Sprint Championships in Heerenveen. After the final distance, the suit was signed by the skater. The suit will be washed.

The 24-year-old Dutch skater secured the bronze medal in the overall standings after a close battle with Kaja Ziomek-Nogal. On the final 1,000 metres, Fledderus managed to hold on to her narrow advantage in the standings to secure the bronze medal.

Where the money goes

_____________

Volunteers are indispensable within speed skating. At clubs, speed skaters and inline skaters receive training from coaches, and many officials are needed to run competitions. It is important that these volunteers are actively involved in the sport with the proper qualifications. The proceeds from the auction will therefore be used to train new coaches and officials. With every €100, the KNSB can train one coach or official.

In this way, every contribution directly helps develop new talent and makes it possible to organise training sessions and competitions throughout the Netherlands.
