Introducing: FC Utrecht's Special Fourth Jersey
Published April 10, 2026
Designed by a 12-year-old. Worn by his heroes.
There's something about a shirt with this kind of story behind it.
FC Utrecht's special fourth shirt for the 2025/26 season was designed by Lukas — a 12-year-old patient at the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital in Utrecht. Over a hundred designs were submitted by children from the hospital. His was chosen. And on April 11, his club will wear it on the pitch.
The match-worn & signed versions are now available on MWS — and a portion of the proceeds will go directly to the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital and the Prinses Máxima Center for pediatric oncology.

Which players will wear the FC Utrecht fourth shirt?

FC Utrecht will wear the special shirt in the Eredivisie home match against Telstar on April 11 at the Galgenwaard.
Collector names to look out for include Souffian El Karouani, Sébastien Haller, Zidane Iqbal, Gjivai Zechiël, and Victor Jensen, all of whom featured in the launch campaign for the shirt alongside Lukas and his young friend Jimi.
Jimi, 6, is being treated at the Prinses Máxima Center. He'll have a role at kickoff, and will be the symbolic 12th man for FC Utrecht that day.
The story behind FC Utrecht's fourth shirt
FC Utrecht has had a close relationship with the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital — part of UMC Utrecht — for over ten years. Players visit annually. This season, the club and Castore went a step further.
Children from the hospital were invited to design their own FC Utrecht jersey. Lukas, who himself has spent significant time at the Wilhelmina over the past few years, submitted his design among more than a hundred entries. His design won.
The jersey was unveiled on April 8 inside the hospital — the place where the idea was born. Children, players, and staff were all there for the reveal.
The jersey itself is available as a limited edition — produced in a small run — which makes the match-worn & signed version from the game against Telstar especially rare.
