The race unfolded in chaotic fashion, with multiple crashes even before the first cobbled sectors, forcing Van Aert to rely on his teammates from Team Visma | Lease a Bike to return to the peloton. The decisive action began on the Trouée d’Arenberg, where the favourites accelerated and a leading group featuring Mathieu van der Poel and Tadej Pogačar emerged. Van Aert spent much of the race chasing and showed strong resilience to fight his way back into contention. On the Roubaix Velodrome, he contested the sprint for the podium but ultimately finished fourth after a gruelling day on the cobbles.
