Where the money goes

Alzheimer's Society logoAlzheimer's Society

England’s game against Wales at Wembley Stadium on 9 October 2025 was the dedicated ‘Alzheimer’s Society International’ fixture, as part of the charity partnership between Alzheimer’s Society and The Football Association (FA). The match was the fourth of its kind since the partnership was established in 2021, raising awareness of dementia and crucial funds for Alzheimer’s Society services and research.

Before the game, 22 fans living with dementia walked out alongside England and Wales players to deliver the powerful message that it will take a united team to beat the UK’s biggest killer. Those selected replaced the child mascots that usually accompany players onto the pitch ahead of kick-off and joined both squads for the national anthems in a striking moment that called on fans to help end the devastation of dementia by donating, campaigning, or seeking support for themselves or loved ones affected by the condition at alzheimers.org.uk/joinourteam.

Dementia is the UK's biggest killer. To beat it, it’s going to take everyone pulling together as one team to donate, support and drive change. It will take a society to beat dementia.
