This official Chelsea shirt was issued to Arjen Robben and carries the number 16 he wore after arriving from PSV in 2004.
Robben’s pace and left foot made an immediate mark on English football. He was Premier League Player of the Month in November 2004, made the PFA Team of the Year in his first season, and helped Chelsea win back-to-back league titles for the first time. His final appearance came off the bench in the 2007 FA Cup final, which Chelsea won.
The shirt comes from the collection of academy midfielder Jimmy Smith, who joined Robben on the pitch at St James’ Park in May 2006 for his only Chelsea appearance.
