This official Bolton Wanderers shirt was worn by David Thompson for the Premier League win against Wigan Athletic at the JJB Stadium in April 2007.
It was Thompson’s first start for Bolton, and it came against the club he had left less than a year earlier. He played 74 minutes as Bolton won 3-1.
Twelve months before, he had been in Wigan colours himself, scoring in the final match ever played at Highbury with Lee McCulloch alongside him in midfield. Thompson came through the Liverpool academy, where his all-action commitment made him a crowd favourite at Anfield.
This shirt comes from the collection of his former team-mate McCulloch, who played the full 90 minutes against him that afternoon.
