This official Aston Villa jersey was worn by midfielder and captain Paul Merson for the Premier League clash against Charlton Athletic at The Valley in April 2001. Merson played the full 90 minutes as Villa fought back twice to earn a point in a dramatic 3-3 draw.
The jersey comes from Merson's third season at Villa Park, by which point he'd already played in the 2000 FA Cup final at the old Wembley as an experienced fixture in Villa's midfield.
