Ten years. That's how long Werder Bremen has been holding its annual Matchday for Inclusion — a home game where the club puts everything behind one message.

In 2026, the players will wear a special-edition shirt for the occasion. And you can own one, match-worn and signed!

The story behind Werder Bremen's Inclusion shirt

The sponsor logo is gone. In its place, in bold script across the chest: "Wir sind Vielfalt" — We are Diversity.

That's the central message of a jersey designed specifically for Werder Bremen's 10th Matchday for Inclusion, created in collaboration with apparel supplier Hummel and designer Maria Elektra.

The design itself nods to the late 1980s and early '90s, with green and cream vertical stripes and a dark green collar.

But the detail that sets it apart is on the shoulders: "WERDER" and "VIELFALT" are in Braille lettering, so blind and visually impaired fans can physically read the shirt's message.

Werder Frauen: worn vs. SGS Essen, March 29

The Werder Bremen women's team wore the Inclusion shirt at home against SGS Essen on March 29 in the Frauen-Bundesliga, winning 2-1.

The women's team was the first to wear it in a competitive game: Mara Halber and Lina Hausicke scored, and theirs are the two most sought-after jerseys.

The men's team: worn vs. RB Leipzig, April 4

The Werder Bremen men's team wore the Inclusion shirt for their Bundesliga home match against RB Leipzig on April 4 at the Weserstadion.

Collectors will be chasing match-worn and signed jerseys from Jens Stage, Yukinari Sugawara, Karim Coulibaly, Marco Friedl, and Romano Schmid.
