The Poppy - a symbol of hope and remembrance!

Published November 9, 2021

Premier League and EFL clubs have once again come together to express their solidarity with and support for the Royal British Legion. Across the UK, teams are holding a minute of silence before their games and wearing special-edition shirts during the matches leading up to Remembrance weekend to honor the service of England’s veterans.

These poppy-embroidered shirts are being auctioned off throughout November and December, with the proceeds being donated to support the honorable work of the Royal British Legion. The Legion relies solely on public support to provide assistance to former and current military personnel and their families.

In its centennial year, the Legion’s work is more important than ever, as its charitable efforts will support vulnerable communities that have experienced additional hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The support the Legion provides to those in need is invaluable, which is why “every poppy counts” and every single contribution to the cause can have a positive impact on someone’s life!
