Special Middlesbrough FC Foundation kit

Published March 20, 2021

It’s no longer rare to see jersey sponsors being switched during the season or even for a one-off game. Just think about the ‘Veganuary’ Werder Bremen jersey. Often, this is done by the club to convey a certain message or to highlight something. Most recently, this happened at Middlesbrough FC.

The club’s primary jersey sponsor, 32Red, was replaced with the Foundation’s crest and name: The MFC Foundation. The MFC Foundation works across Teesside, delivering sports, health, education, and inclusion projects that raise aspirations and change the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in local communities. The charity was founded in 1996 and relies heavily on funds raised by the clubs and charitable donors. That’s why it’s such a nice gesture by 32Red to ‘give up their spot’ to the Foundation and highlight its great work. Furthermore, we at MatchWornShirt are also very grateful to support such an amazing cause.

Apparently the new-look jerseys served as a good-luck charm, as Neil Warnock and his men beat Stoke City 3-0 in convincing fashion.
