Oh la la la, c’est magnifique! The heartwarming story of Arno and KV Oostende

Koninklijke Voetbalclub Oostende is a soccer club from the Belgian town of Ostend, home to 70,000 residents and one of Belgium’s most famous rock stars: Arno Hintjens. The lyrics of his song “Oh la la la, c’est magnifique”, written for his former band TC Matic, blast through the speakers at the Diaz Arena every time KVO scores a home goal.
Now, the club has organized a very special fundraising event in his honor.

Arno was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2019 and, at age 72, is still battling the disease today. Inspired by his strength, KV Oostende has decided to take action to help everyone who, like him, is facing this challenge.

For last week’s home game against title contenders Club Brugge, the club released some unique jerseys, proudly featuring the anthem lyrics “Oh la la la, c’est magnifique” across the chest. They have now been signed and are up for auction on MatchWornShirt to raise funds for Kom op tegen Kanker, a Belgian nonprofit organization that dreams of a world without cancer.
