Ligue 1 supports LGBTQ+

The LGBTQ+ community still faces hatred, prejudice, discrimination, and stigma around the world today simply because of their sexuality and who they are. May 17 marks International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, raising awareness of the issues the LGBTQ+ community faces every day.

League de Football Professionnel stands with the LGBTQ+ community and their inclusion in sports. Teams across Ligue 1 have once again taken part in a fantastic initiative that was first introduced in 2021. On May 14 and 15, players from France’s top division wore shirts featuring special rainbow-colored numbers, using the rainbow flag as a symbol of peace, diversity, and above all as a symbol of the LGBTQ+ movement.

As with last year, MatchWornShirt has joined forces with Ligue 1 Uber Eats to give fans the chance to own these special shirts from players such as Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, Guendouzi, Ui-Jo, and many more. The funds raised will be used to support Ensemble, PanamBoyz & Girlz United, and SOS in their fight against homophobia at all levels.
