Coritiba setting the standard for sustainability in soccer!

Brazilian soccer club Coritiba is leading the way in social responsibility initiatives in soccer! “Coxa” is currently sitting at the top of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B standings, and beyond its efforts on the field, the team is also actively supporting important social and environmental causes! Last week, Coritiba debuted its exclusive “Our green, even greener” jerseys in a win over league rival Sampaio Corrêa.

Made from polyester and 100% recycled materials, the green uniforms are designed not as a tribute, but rather as a warning about preserving the Atlantic Forest Great Reserve, home to more than 2,000 animal species and 23,000 plants, many of which are not found anywhere else on Earth! Across the chest of the jerseys, we can see a graphic pattern in the shape of a forest, symbolizing the natural beauty of the habitat they are trying to preserve. Moreover, the uniforms are produced in collaboration with the “1909” apparel group, which is why they feature the company’s logo under the original Coritiba crest!
