Best goal in Euros history?

“Screamer - A thing remarkable for speed or impact” is the only term that even comes close to describing Patrik Schick’s wonder strike for the Czech Republic in its opening game of Euro 2020.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward collected a deflected ball around midfield, hitting it without hesitation to lob the stranded Scotland goalkeeper and stun the crowd inside Hampden Park. This spectacular goal gave the Czech Republic the perfect start to the tournament and sealed the team’s convincing 2-0 win over Scotland.

In its first match, ‘Lokomotiva’ took the field in its white away uniform. The uniforms have a simple yet elegant design - but that may be exactly what makes them so beautiful.

Most of the design seems to be focused in the center of the chest, with the name ‘Czech Republic’ featured in the middle of the jersey. Above this is the Puma logo, while the crest of the Czech FA sits at the bottom. Over the heart are the flags of both nations, as well as the date of the game. The small red stripes put the finishing touches on this incredible jersey.

The Czech Republic national soccer team is probably best known for elusive players such as Pavel Nedved, Jan Koller, Tomáš Rosicky, Milan Baroš, and Petr Cech, who all played key roles in the team’s campaigns in the 2000s and early 2010s. Now, the squad seems to have found some new stars, with the likes of Schick, Soucek, and Coufal joining the mix.

Luckily, you can now own a piece of one of these stars as all jerseys from the team’s win over Scotland, including the one worn by wonder-goal hero Patrik Schick, are now available!

For now, we can only guess how far Šilhavy’s men can go, but so far it looks very promising!
