Beautiful 'Blues' shirts in support of the Chelsea FC Foundation

At MatchWornShirt, we're happy with every single shirt that lands on our platform, since each one can be beautiful in its own way and support a charity, whether it comes from a small or large club. Still, it's always special when we get to collaborate with one of the best-known clubs in the world. In this case, that's Chelsea!

On February 20, the Blues faced Southampton at St. Mary's Stadium. However, even though Chelsea was playing away, the team wore its traditional sapphire-blue home kits. Immediately after kickoff, the shirts of some of the biggest names in the game went up for auction. Proceeds from the shirts will directly support the club's own foundation: the Chelsea FC Foundation.

The Chelsea FC Foundation runs one of the world's leading social responsibility programs in football and aims to help those who need it most. Most of their work is done in local communities, where they aim to promote education and social inclusion for young people, as well as support people with disabilities and older adults. Furthermore, the Foundation has a global partnership with Plan International. Together, they strive to advance children's rights and equality for girls around the world, supporting refugees and many young people in developing countries.

It goes without saying that the Foundation's work has become quite challenging during the pandemic. Nonetheless, the club and the Foundation came up with a COVID response plan in order to continue supporting those who need it most. The Foundation delivers online education and provides virtual coaching and exercise sessions for young people in order to protect their well-being and development. Seniors can also join online exercise sessions, as well as virtual social sessions. Furthermore, the Foundation undertook a number of initiatives to support vulnerable families, community groups, and organizations affected by the pandemic by donating to and volunteering at local food banks.

It's amazing to see that a club can use the power of football and sport to motivate, educate, and inspire, as well as support communities and individuals both at home and abroad.

If the Blues' shirts themselves weren't already enough of a reason to place a bid, then the charity definitely should be!
