Aston Villa: Ending the poppy season with one of England's finest!

Published January 12, 2022

Aston Villa is building something truly special this season! The Birmingham-based club has emerged as one of the most active clubs in the transfer market and is looking to build a squad that can rival even the very best Premier League teams! With Steven Gerrard arriving as the new manager and the addition of world-class talents like Philippe Coutinho, Leon Bailey, and Emiliano Buendia, Villa looks as competitive and dangerous as ever!

Founded in 1874 by four cricket players, Villa is one of the oldest soccer clubs in Europe and is credited with creating the first organized soccer competition in England—the original Football League (1888). Over the years, Aston Villa has undoubtedly established itself as one of England’s most iconic and historically significant clubs, joining an exclusive group of only five English teams to have won the European Cup!

A European title, 7 First Division titles, and an endless number of memories—the club has captivated fans for over 100 years with its passionate and determined style of play. In addition to bringing joy to millions of supporters with its play on the field, the club is also involved in a number of charitable campaigns outside the stadium. Aston Villa is a proud supporter of the Royal British Legion and continues to show its appreciation by wearing the iconic poppy on its first-team uniforms during matches leading up to Remembrance Weekend.

The team’s poppy-embroidered jerseys from this year’s Poppy Appeal can now be found on our platform! Worn by the squad during its most recent matchup against Southampton and signed by Villa’s biggest stars, these incredible jerseys are true works of art! This is officially our last poppy auction of the 2021/2022 campaign, so let’s make it memorable together!
