Arsenal collector Arsteao: 'I haven't regretted a single purchase yet!'

For this series, we're exploring jersey collectors all over the world. This time, it took us to Arsenal collector Arsteao. He started his collection in 2012, as soon as he began earning money. His all-time favorite player is, not surprisingly, Thierry Henry.  We talked about his love for Arsenal, the poppy jerseys, and a one-day trip to Hong Kong. Sit back and enjoy!

The uniqueness of the Poppy jersey

'What I like about poppy jerseys is that they're unique and pretty. Especially the ones with embroidered flowers and information about both teams. This year, I'm planning to bid on the Aubameyang and Thomas Partey poppy jerseys. I'll also be trying to get the Magalhães and Tierney jerseys for a collector friend of mine. Collectors of match-worn Arsenal jerseys are hard to find, but the ones I've gotten to know have really become friends!'

A day trip to Hong Kong

'My first item was the limited-edition home jersey from the 05/06 season, which I think is the prettiest Arsenal jersey out there. One time, a friend and I bought around 20 Arsenal jerseys from a collector in Hong Kong. Because of their value, I was afraid to have them shipped. So I flew from Shanghai to Hong Kong with two empty suitcases, filled them with Arsenal jerseys, and returned the same day!'

Ramsey, Henry, and an unbeaten season

'My favorite possession is a jersey worn by Aaron Ramsey in the 2018/2019 away match against Arsenal's rival, Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham was leading in the first half, but when Ramsey came on, Arsenal turned things around and won the match! All the goals were somehow related to Ramsey. Still, my favorite Arsenal moment is when 'The Invincibles' went 49 Premier League matches unbeaten!'

'One day I hope to get a match-worn Thierry Henry jersey. The only difficulty is that they never sold any match-worn jerseys directly at that time. This makes it difficult to determine the authenticity. Although my relatives sometimes think I'm kind of crazy, I haven't regretted any of my purchases yet!'
