A piece of the Rotterdam derby!
Published February 11, 2022
A club known for its rich history and traditions, Feyenoord is among the most respected teams in the Dutch Eredivisie. Founded in 1908 under the name “Wilhelmina,” the club wasted no time building a reputation for itself. Earning promotion after promotion, Feyenoord quickly climbed the ranks of Dutch soccer and eventually reached the top division just 12 years after its creation! After earning promotion, the team never looked back and has since established itself as a household name.
Known as the club of the people of Rotterdam, Feyenoord prides itself on being a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of club whose actions speak louder than words. That working-class mentality is deeply ingrained in the organization's DNA and is also reflected in its exciting style of play on the field. Backed by a loyal fan base, the Dutch side conquered both the domestic and international stages, amassing over 30 national titles and winning the highly coveted European Champion Clubs’ Cup in 1970!
During the 2021/2022 season, Feyenoord remains one of the Netherlands’ most competitive teams and is still actively trying to add more silverware to its already rich collection. Last week, the team geared up for an exciting matchup against local rival Sparta Rotterdam! Despite the heightened stakes and fiery atmosphere, the Feyenoord players managed to keep their cool and win the game 4-0 in dominant fashion. During the game, two of Feyenoord’s newest signings, Wålemark and Hendrix, made their debuts for the team.
Fans now have the chance to bring home a piece of Feyenoord and the Rotterdam derby, as the team’s game-worn and signed jerseys from the clash are now open for bids. The proceeds will be donated to the Feyenoord Foundation and its incredible efforts to address issues in society and provide support to local communities and people in need.
