A Christmas tradition with a cause - Werder Bremen style!

Published December 21, 2021

Christmas songs, holiday movies, and an overwhelming sense of joy! These are just a few of the many things that make this time of year so magical and exciting! In typical festive fashion, Werder Bremen is once again reminding us why it is considered by many to be one of the most generous clubs in soccer by launching its annual “Christmas Tree” initiative!

During their last games before Christmas, Werder Bremen teams across different levels of play wear special kits featuring the iconic WB logo reimagined as a Christmas tree. The concept was first introduced during the 2002/2003 season and has since become a good luck charm for the Grün-Weißen, as they have won 9 and drawn 6 of the 18 games they have played in the special uniforms.

This year, the limited-edition “Tannenbaumraute” jerseys from Werder Bremen’s 2. Bundesliga, Frauen-Bundesliga, and esports teams will go up for auction on our platform, with the proceeds going to the club’s “SPIELRAUM” initiative. The charitable campaign aims to promote the benefits of sports to children and young adults and support their personal and professional development through the provision of specialized facilities and expertise in the field.

The “SPIELRAUM” is just one of the many charitable initiatives under Werder Bremen’s social responsibility umbrella, with the club determined to use its reach and influence to spread positivity and change lives!
