The Festival of Soccer

At first glance, one might think that soccer and festivals have absolutely nothing in common; they seem neither to mesh nor to combine with one another. If, instead, we analyze these two elements simply as sports and festivities, it becomes possible to see that they actually share many values and strive toward similar goals.

The goal of soccer, beyond improving the quality and skill within the game itself, is to promote integration, diversity, and equality; provide a platform for places and performers; and ultimately promote personal development. Many of these goals and objectives are also reflected in the core values of festivals, which is exactly why the Belgian national team and its main sponsor, Adidas, have once again decided to collaborate with the Belgian festival “Tomorrowland” on the design of their new uniforms.

Tomorrowland is located in the aptly named town of Boom, Belgium. The site is surrounded by beautiful scenery, the venue is filled with stunning ornaments, magical fireworks are set off continuously throughout the event, and there is food and entertainment for all kinds of people. With more than half a million visitors from over 200 countries, Tomorrowland symbolizes the values of freedom, respect, diversity, and solidarity. This year, the main theme of the festival’s 2022 edition was "The Reflection of Love," which aligns with the festival’s mission: "to unite the people of tomorrow and connect souls from all over the world, aiming to capture beautiful moments and create everlasting relationships."

The new away kit of the “Red Devils” was unveiled on September 25 in the UEFA Nations League match against the Netherlands, giving the world a chance to see its unique themes and overall design. The shirt remains white, as in the first collaboration between the national team and the renowned festival, but this time it features the "LOVE" print—the motto of the Tomorrowland festival—on the back of the collar, with the 'O' styled after the festival’s logo. Another important design element on the collar, sleeves, sides, and hem of the shirt is the famous Tomorrowland Fireworks motif, which symbolizes the values of diversity, equality, and inclusivity. Finally, the sponsors and logo follow the same color scheme as the Fireworks, while the front of the shirt, the number on the back, and the player’s name remain unchanged.
