Poppy Appeal 2022

The time has finally come! This year’s Poppy Appeal is now underway, and you can support the Royal British Legion by getting your hands on the unique worn and signed soccer jerseys of your favorite athletes from sports clubs across England and Wales. This year, we are introducing a new and innovative way to join the race for your favorite piece of sports memorabilia, and you will also be able to find more unique and special jerseys. All of this is happening exclusively on the MatchWornShirt platform.

Like every year, the jerseys will be completely unique, as each one will display the iconic poppy. Last year’s event raised a total of more than £800,000 in proceeds, with jerseys from global superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Phil Foden, Vivianne Miedema, Leah Williamson, and Mana Iwabuchi featured in the fundraiser.

This year, MatchWornShirt had the chance to interview England national team manager Gareth Southgate. Southgate, who will be coaching the Three Lions in this upcoming edition of the World Cup, highlighted the importance of this annual event, which brings the nation together and reminds us of, and teaches us about, the virtues and principles represented by the poppy.
