Sir Bobby Charlton
£2,862 | Signed
The Matt Derbyshire Collection – Signed by Legends

The fact that the shirt top of this list is a signed re-issue tells you everything you need to know about the stature of Sir Bobby Charlton.
A member of England’s only ever World Cup-winning squad in 1966, items with the signature of the Three Lions and Manchester United legend are consistently popular with collectors at home and internationally.
In 2023, Charlton’s match-worn England shirt from the 1966 semi-final, in which he scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Portugal, sold for £59,040.

Adam Lallana
£2,862 | Match-worn & signed
Costa Rica vs. England, World Cup 2014

It’s a game that did not live long in the memory – but from a collector’s point of view, opportunities to own an England shirt worn at a World Cup are few and far between.
The shirt comes from the beginning of Lallana’s peak years with the national team, a 0-0 group-stage draw with Costa Rica that ended the Three Lions’ World Cup journey. The shirt has all the things that attract collectors – the official World Cup badge on the right sleeve, match details beneath the England crest.
The former Southampton and Liverpool midfielder would go on to make 34 appearances for his country, and was voted as England’s Player of the Year in 2016, making this one highly sought-after.

Spain vs. England, Friendly 2004

Frank Lampard in the Bernabéu, match-worn against some of the greats of Spanish football. You can see exactly why this one finds itself in the top 5 England shirts list.
England lost the game 1-0, an ill-tempered mid-season friendly, with Lampard starting alongside fellow legends David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and Wayne Rooney.
Worn Lampard shirts are within a collectors grasp more and more often through Legend Collection, which is making it possible to own authentic pieces of the England midfielder’s 106-cap Three Lions career.

David Beckham
£1,919 | Signed
The Matt Derbyshire Collection – Signed by Legends

A classic England shirt, signed by one of the biggest names ever to wear it.
David Beckham’s signature sits proudly on this EURO 2004-era Umbro shirt, the first Three Lions shirt signed by Becks ever to become available through an MWS auction.
It’s a shirt synonymous with the so-called “Golden Generation”, worn by Gerrard, Scholes, Lampard, Rooney, and their captain Beckham. Scour fan lists of the best England shirts ever, and this one comes up time and again. With a signature? Less so.

Wayne Rooney
£1,587 | Match-issued & signed
England vs. Slovenia, EUROs qualifying 2014

It doesn’t get much more unique than this – an authentic match-issued Wayne Rooney shirt from his 100th England appearance.
England won the match 3-1, with Rooney scoring a penalty to level the scores in the second half. It was a goal that saw him move up to joint-third on the all-time list of national team goalscorers alongside Jimmy Greaves.
At the time, he was the ninth and youngest England player ever to reach the 100-appearance milestone, which is represented in gold on the front of the shirt.
