Giro 555 - Turkey - SyriaFortuna speelt op bezoek bij FC Emmen met Giro555 op de wedstrijdshirts. Met dit initiatief willen Fortuna en hoofdsponsor BetCity, dat de ruimte op het shirt beschikbaar stelt, aandacht vragen voor de situatie in Turkije en Syrië. Beide landen werden onlangs getroffen door zware aardbevingen.
De gevolgen van deze natuurramp reiken verder dan de getroffen landen. Ook in Nederland leven tal van Turkse en Syrische gezinnen in onzekerheid of zijn zij een dierbare verloren. Als voetbalclub heeft Fortuna ook een maatschappelijke functie. Vaak regionaal, maar op momenten als deze ook zeker internationaal.
Door de nauwe banden met het getroffen gebied wil Fortuna graag iets betekenen. “Een uitzonderlijke ramp,” laat voorzitter Isitan Gün optekenen. “Een ramp als deze raakt ons allemaal. Dichtbij of ver weg. Met deze actie willen we als club aandacht vragen voor de situatie en een bijdrage leveren om de getroffenen te helpen. Groot of klein, elke vorm van steun helpt!”
