This official Tottenham Hotspur shirt was worn by Danny Murphy for the Premier League clash against Wigan Athletic at White Hart Lane in February 2006.

It was Murphy’s first start for Spurs, a week after his debut off the bench at Sunderland, and he played 74 minutes before making way for Robbie Keane.

The shirt comes from his first months at the club after his January move from Charlton, in a season that ended with Spurs finishing fifth. He wore the number 8 only for that half-season: in 2006/07 he switched to 13, and scored his first Spurs goal within 39 seconds of a 2-1 win over Portsmouth.

From the collection of Lee McCulloch, who came off the bench for Wigan in the closing minutes that afternoon, this shirt belongs to a former England international in the short-lived number 8 of his Tottenham career.
