Special Werder Bremen jerseys for ‘Veganuary’

Published January 21, 2021

Soccer fans with a keen eye might have noticed that Bundesliga club Werder Bremen kicked off the new year with a fresh look. The badge of regular jersey sponsor "Wiesenhof" was replaced by a GREEN LEGEND logo across the chest. Both brands are owned by the PHW Group, which has been Werder’s main jersey sponsor since 2012. GREEN LEGEND is a new product line introduced by the PHW Group back in October that aims to deliver maximum flavor from plant-based proteins. The products are a completely vegan alternative, while still offering all the flavor of the original meat products. The PHW Group decided to put the GREEN LEGEND logo on the kits to mark "Veganuary." "Veganuary" is an international initiative that aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and motivate people all around the world to follow a plant-based diet in January. Through this partnership, the PHW Group and Werder hope to raise awareness of plant-based products and veganism in general.

The GREEN LEGEND brand is a perfect fit for the green-and-white shirts worn by "die Werderaner" in a total of six games throughout January, making these shirts very rare and special. That’s why Werder Bremen and MatchWornShirt have teamed up to put the final set of match-worn shirts up for auction. The shirts, worn and signed by Werder stars like Rashica, Bittencourt, and Pavlenka, came from the 1-1 draw against Schalke 04 on January 30, 2021. However, two players decided to give the fans a little bonus: Ludwig Augustinsson and Ilia Gruev not only signed their own shirts, but also those of all their teammates.

Taken together, all of this makes these shirts some of the most unique jerseys ever offered on our website.  Interested? Place your bid here!
