This speed skating suit was issued for the Winter Olympics in Milan–Cortina. The 27-year-old Dutch skater claimed the first Olympic title of her career in Milan by winning the 1,000 metres in an Olympic record time of 1:12.31, finishing ahead of Femke Kok and Miho Takagi. Following her gold-medal performance in the 1,000 metres, Leerdam skated to a time of 37.15 in the 500 metres, securing the silver medal. This suit therefore represents a unique piece of Olympic history.
In addition, this hybrid suit is the result of a multi-year development process, during which it has been continuously refined and optimised by Sportconfex, with the aim of ensuring that TeamNL athletes can compete as competitively as possible at the Winter Olympics.
