At Werder Bremen we use the revenues to support our foundation. The foundation helps implementing the SPIELRAUM concept: A SPIELRAUM is formed through the proximity and interconnectedness of SV Werder Bremen’s partner institutions. Social areas are defined based on the level of demand identified, upon which various institutions are chosen. A SPIELRAUM is always composed of a nursery, elementary school, secondary school, sports club, youth welfare services and a municipal facility.

In order to make it possible for children and youths, both with and without disabilities and/or with migrant backgrounds, to have continued access to sport, the programme offers weekly sport and exercise activities, as well as regular events during daycare hours, free time and holidays. The programmes are led by SV Werder Bremen instructors in cooperation with organisers from our partner institutions. The participants and partner institutions receive regular training and further education to enable them to implement their own programmes in the short and long-term. The SPIELRAUM concept is aimed at supporting participants in continuing their personal growth, developing an enthusiasm for sport and exercise and encouraging them to take on responsibility.
